Some people are born with a silver spoon while others have to strive to shine like silver. God chose to put me in the second category and I choose to turn every challenge into a polishing opportunity. Let's delve into "The Story of My Life".
Coming from a middle-class family, I grew up with the belief that studying hard is the ticket to independence and by god's grace, I excelled academically from childhood. But I aspired to be more than a nerd so I kept exploring my passions as well. To balance my intellect with a well rounded life, I learned some creative skills like drawing and dancing. Gradually, I became an all rounder managing my studies and extra curriculars simultaneously.
Life was thriving until the first real test hit during my 10th board exams. My father's severe illness revealed the unpredictability of life. Yet I stood strong, emerged victorious and learnt that 'Life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we react to it'.
After school, I enrolled for the course of Company Secretary and started preparing for exams. I was targeting an All India Rank and everything was going on well until my mother suffered from a severe illness right on the first day of my exam. I was broken and I asked God "Why is it me always?". But then I remember the first time when a similar incident happened and how I dealt with it. I regained confidence and my grandmother also encouraged me to give my best in exams and guess what happened next. I secured an All India Rank and it was nothing less than a dream come true.
Right the next year, I was all set to participate in a national level competition to make my parents and grandma proud again. Also I was travelling to another city alone for the first time in my life so I was very excited until 5 days before the main event my grandma passed away taking my soul with herself. This time it was difficult for me to stay strong, I could have given up easily but I participated in the competition and secured first prize at National level. In the next year I secured another all India rank all with the blessings of my Grandma.
So my life has been nothing less than a roller coaster ride till date and I wish it remains so for the years to come as it is the challenges that make us fierce and powerful.
